Another Whirl Wind Weekend Part II

The Ramey Ranch.

Watch out at the parades, my boys are gettin' good. We took the kids to the Dairy Days parade on Friday and they had a ball. It's so much fun to see them get all worked up over a piece of candy. (nevermind we have a bowl full at home) It's also funny how they only have 2-3 years max of you protecting the candy till they finally get to it to pick it up to you telling them to put it down and let the younger kids have some. Poor Riggin.
Saturday, we went to Nana Stone's Family Reunion in Melba. We had a blast! They sure know how to have a party. It was western themed and we mined for gold, shopped at the mercantile, had stick pony barrel races, made family brand necklaces, and rode a mechanical bull. Mike won that RODEO;) They are always so good to at making us feel like part of the family.
After the reunion we packed up and drove to New Meadows to spend a few days at The Ramey Ranch. We went with Cody and Kelly and 6 other couple from Utah. It was a blast! We went swimming in their hot springs pool, sat in a sauna, took the kids fishing & my favorite.... cliff jumping. And not so much cliff because it was only 10-15 feet high, but still a heart pounder because you had to have a running head start to clear it. So, you couldn't see EXACTLY where you were supposed to land. SCARY- But fun!
I'll post the cliff jumping photos soon.

Beauty Treatment Tag

I have been tagged by my cousin Tara... So, ENJOY!!! I'm pretty lame... nothing too exciting.

MY FOUNDATION: Sometimes I'll mix a little Mac foundation with my moisturizer... but it's rare. I hate the heaviness of it and hate getting it on my clothes and others. Yep, Emily... I haven't forgotten.

MY BLUSH: No blush, but I do use MAC's Bronzer. Love it!

MY DAY CREAM: I use the USANA moisturizer. It's my favorite.

MY LIPSTICK: Chapstick, I don't pull color off very well. I do like gloss, but haven't fell in love with anything in particular. E.L.F. you can pick up for a buck at Kmart. (Totally got duped with this mass email... another story for another day... but I do like it and really hate spending money on something that gets licked off in minutes anyway.)

MY ESSENTIAL BEAUTY PRODUCT: I love my MAC brushes.

MY FAVORITE PRODUCT: So, I heard a little trick about Preperation H around your eyes to reduce morning swelling. It works! Who would have thought, for your butt and face ;)

MY PERFUME: Pink Sugar, Be Delicious & Como Crema.

MY NAILS: I'm lucky if they're not all snaggely.

MY FEET: SAME AS ABOVE!

MY HANDS: My new favorite lotion is OLAY Quench Body Lotion. It has sparkles;) If I don't hide my sparkle lotion... Mike uses it! (Yep, on his face... Metro- what?) I love that guy;)

THREE PRODUCTS TO TAKE ON A DESERT ISLAND: OLAY Quench Body Lotion alone is all I'd want. I hate feeling all dry and flaky.

WOMEN I ADMIRE FOR THERE BEAUTY: Jessica Alba (yes, I know... Ashlee Butler, you could pass for her twin) & Victoria Beckham.

WOMEN WITH THE BEST SENSE OF STYLE: Shayne from the last season's Bachelor. My good friend Sally who will never read my blog because she already has her "blog friends". HEHEHE!!! And... My sister Aubri! Sorry sissies, you all have great style... but let's face it, Aubri always looks GREAT!

MY ULTIMATE DREAM: Assuming this pertains to the whole Beauty theme... to not dread getting into a bathing suit, (5 more pounds) & I am so sick of droopy boobs I could puke.

I TAG: Kat Serra, Katie Hart, Ashlee Butler & Aubri Halls

Another Whirl Wind Weekend!

Eagle Fun Days Rodeo 2008
Featuring Riggin & Wylie In The Mutton Bustin'
Written by Stone

2 Mean Looking Cowboys

So we entered the boys in the Mutton Busting event at the Eagle Fun Days Rodeo last Saturday. This same rodeo serves as my rodeo career ender as this is where I broke my arm riding bulls 6 years ago. As soon as we entered them I pulled up some Mutton Busting clips on You Tube to show them what they would be doing. Wylie loved the clips and wanted to ride a sheep right then. Riggin, however looked a little more concerned. Later that day we were in the car and Riggin, out of nowhere said, "Dad, I am a little nervous about this sheep thing." I laughed a little on the inside and reassured him he would have fun and that I would get him a Hockey Helmet to protect him and that everyone would be there to cheer him on and that he would have the opportunity to win a belt buckle and that after he rode he could stand in the arena an wave to everyone as they clapped for him. He was re-convicted.
So we began preparing them for the big event for the next couple of weeks by having them climb on our backs and we would buck around the living room. Our technique was simple; lay down belly to back and put our ear next to the sheep's ear and squeeze as hard as we could with our arms and legs. As the rodeo drew nearer Riggin's confidence grew as Wylie's weakened.
When we got to the rodeo I can't tell you how fun it was to bring the boys into a world Ashlee and I both loved so much. Little did the boys know what awaited them...Riggin is first and then it's Wylie. Watch and learn.

So here is the deal. Aside from the fact that both of my boys' sheep came rippin' out of the box was a little unfair considering that the boy who won the buckle's sheep just walked out and meandered around until they pulled him off. Oh well, that's rodeo, but the fact that both of my boys slid down on the back of a sheep and called for the gate is pretty dang cool. Proud Dad moment for sure, but as I am standing in the arena with two tear stained boys both with dirt on their backs and faces I couldn't help thinking "What have I done to my sons?"
After we brushed off the dirt and calmed down the tears, we asked Riggin what happened? He said "the sheep stepped on my junk." That would make me cry too. Then he said, "where's my icecream cone?"(His mom's bribing tool for the boys to do good.) Then they marched all the Mutton Busters back into the arena, gave them t-shirts, and the crowd gave them another round of applause.
We watched the rest of the rodeo with all the family(thanks to everyone who supported us) and I showed Riggin where I got his name from (Bareback Rider's handle) and he seemed to think that was pretty cool. All's well that ends well.
And now that it is over Wylie is asking when he can ride sheep again telling me he will hold on "TIGHT" and Riggin is committed to winning the buckle next year. Another proud Dad moment.

Happy Father's Day
Written by Ashlee

So besides the Rodeo... This weekend we had awesome company in town, our neighborhood garage sale (where the boys tried to earn money for a WII), a BBQ, the Eagle Fun Days Wet n' Wild Parade, The Walker Father's Day Picnic and FATHERS DAY!!!
Happy Father's Day.... The weekend was so jammed packed full of fun that I felt like Mike was a little neglected. But I do love him so much and am so thankful he is such a GREAT daddy. You can see it in his posts. He loves being a Dad and there's nothing greater than to see him enjoying that role.

What is wrong with us?

So... my friend Marcie was commenting on what a mean mother she was for video taping her daughter falling asleep in her high chair. It reminded me of my mean mother moment of us pranking our 2 year olds. Anyway, I found it and thought I'd share. This is Riggin and Leighton in 05'.

"LOOK MOM... No Training Wheels!"

So, we have this little red bike that Mike took the training wheels off last fall. Riggin had the toughest time riding it. His little legs had to go so fast to keep his balance and so Mike would have to run next to him because it was always to risky. (talk about a workout) So, on Thursday, Mike decided to take the training wheels off the 'big' bike (the one he would graduate to after he was an accomplished 'small' bike rider. BUT, to our surprise... he rode that bike like he'd be riding for years. Yeah Riggin! He still needs help on the take off and on the landing.... well.... we've had quite a few tears. But, he keeps getting back on, so we're happy.
And, because Riggin has graduated to the 'big' bike... Wylie gets to ride the 'RED' bike. He couldn't be happier! Thank you Mud! The bikes are a hit!

THE FARM

Yesterday, for FHE, we planted our garden with Mike's sister Season and her husband Travis. Yes, I know it's a little late but we're keeping our fingers crossed. Papa and Nanna Stone have so kindly allowed us to use their property so we were quite the busy gardeners. And posers for that matter too. I love you Babe!

Memorial Day Weekend

Wow... what a whirl wind. For not having any plans, we had a pretty fun filled weekend. Thursday night Lex and her friends brought Rockband out to play on the big screen. It woke Riggin and Wylie up, so long after the party left, the Stones were a rockin. It was cool, 2am and we had the boys up jammin in the bonus room. I'm gonna get turned in I know. Friday, we went to Casey & Hannah's to celebrate our friends' birthdays.

Saturday, we all went to Garden Valley to celebrate my Grandfather's Birthday. This is Wylie. Wylie Truman Leighton. That's right, for those of you who did not know, Wylie Tucker was named after his Great Grandfather. The picture of him and 3 grandchildren are his namesakes. It goes in order Wylie, Truman (auna's boy) and Leighton (andra's daughter).

FIGHT NIGHT
Per Lynnett's request, I'm gonna start blogging about our parties. I'll try anyway... We're kinda party people. We love having a good time so... I'll do my best. Where do I even start... Mike and I love ultimate fighting! We're kinda geeks about it. So, anytime there's a good Pay Per View... we call the gang and have everyone out. Saturday, after we got home from Garden Valley we had FIGHT NIGHT!!!

Tim Dudley (The Grill King) cooked up an awesome primerib and we had quite the party.

Sunday, I took pictures at a Fiesta Luau to celebrate the communion and baptisms of a friends daughters. We had a hard time communicating since neither Mike or I speak spanish (wanna learn) but we had a blast and the boys loved the pinatas. I'm on a mission to learn how to make my own tortillas.

And Monday, we took the kids to the Eagle Island State Park. We met the Weights, Rehrers, Beardalls, and Chritchfields there and let the boys run around naked in the water. It was awesome... until we got rained out and then we went back to our place. We still had Rockband here, so we ordered pizzas and called over the Dudleys, Rameys and Kelsons in addition to our 'park friends' and let the good times roll.

Thank you Lynnett for encouraging this post and thank you friends for allowing us to endulge in our crazy, never a dull moment, wanna keep the party goin, way of life.

Excited For Summer Montage

SUMMER FUN 2007

So since we didn't have our blog until recently, I wanted to show our summer fun from last year. These are a mixture of memories from Priest Lake, Oregon Coast, Jackson Hole, and Silverwood Amusement Park. The boys had never seen the ocean so on a wild hare the Shosted's and us made a detour to the Oregon Coast after the Walker Family Reunion in Northern Idaho. It was a blast! The best plan is no plan. Life's an adventure and I don't want the road map.... I'll figure it out as I go. Later, Stone
