One More Time

Ashlee decided to do one more figure competition with her two friends last weekend in Twin Falls before she put it to rest. She was on the fence for some time about doing it, but in the end she figured she might as well do it since she was already in shape and had everything else ready to go. She did great and placed 4th out of 7 and beat a decorated figure champion in the process. We took the kids this time and made a family trip out of it. The kids enjoyed cheering for their mom and said she has "big muscles." What a chapter in life. I am so proud of Ashlee for sticking to her guns even though her goal was met with mixed reviews and opinions. A big "Thank You" to all of those who supported her and cheered her on. It meant more than you know. I kinda geeked out on the last figure show post with a ton of pictures that has been met with some mixed reviews as well so I took down that post and I will keep this one a little more discrete. Anyway during the day between the morning and afternoon competitions we took the kids to the Temple and to Shoshone Falls. Thanks to Kelly and the boys for coming to support her and for playing with us during the day. You Rock!

Eastern Idaho Fair

FAIR JUNKIES

Well growing up in Blackfoot Idaho you learn that the Eastern Idaho fair is a little bit magical and I love to go back and relive a little piece of my youth. Sunday morning we said "do we go to church or to Blackfoot?" Before I could say church Ashlee was already packing up the car. So we headed out to meet TW, Bug, and Brandon as they were already there. A little known fact; is that TW grew up in eastern Idaho(Rockland/Pocatello) and he too knows the magic of the fair as well. Anyway...We made plans to meet Mud and Fawn and the Wrights there and had a great time. Special thanks to TW and Bug for taking care of us so well while we were there. We are spoiled, for sure.

1st Day of 1st Grade

According to Riggin, this day couldn't have come any sooner. He has been excited about first grade since before kindergarten was over. He was up extra early, showered on his own, and got dressed by himself (Of course I laid out his clothes, we have to let them know who they are dealing with right from the get go. My son is P-L-A-Y-A!). He was waiting with his backpack on for about 20 minutes before it was time to leave and was annoyed with the photo session as we were just slowing his row. Of course we geeked out like all of the other parents and made it a family affair with lots of pictures and it was nice Lynnett was down to share in the fun. We are so proud of Riggin, he has never been too shy or scared in new situations. He just jumps right in. What a little STUD! Anyway, enough proud Daddy stuff. After he disappeared into class Tommy and Wylie wanted a little playground time to themselves so we hung out at the school for a little while and then peeked in on Riggin before we left. Magical times as a parent! We are so blessed.

Summers End

McCall

It's all over. Summer 2009 came to a close last weekend. To say goodbye to summer we planned one last trip to McCall to spend with some friends. Lynnett surprised us by coming to town with Casey and Hannah so we had her tag along for the fun. We stopped and had dinner in McCall and played at the beach before going up to our friend's cabin. It was a perfect night! The sun was setting and the kids stripped down to their underwear and played in the sand and water.

The Ranch

The rest of the weekend was spent at our friend's (Cody and Kelly)family cabin, which is more like a lodge, with 5 other couples and their kids. We had midnight swims, bike jumps into the pool, and lots of games at night. It was a perfect end to a great summer.
